Currently working as Associate Professor at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). I graduated as PhD Researcher from Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy in April 2015 where I was pursuing my PhD in Computer Engineering. I was working with SISINFLAB, where our group was engaged in pursuing research in different topics ranging from Semantic Web to Internet of Things and recently started working on Semantic Web of Things which has applications in Building Automation, Transportation, Healthcare and many other domains. My research interests are in the field of Semantic Web and its integration with emerging technologies such are Leveraging Linked Data with Future Internet technologies such as Fog Computing, Content-Centric Networks and Internet of Things (IoT). I hold a Master’s degree in System Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, where I had studied subjects related to Software Engineering as well as Software-based network development. Recently, I was engaged in research work on enabling semantic annotations and resource discovery in a wireless sensor network based on Contiki OS which will enable these devices to seamlessly integrate to the web and provide grounds for building smart cities, smart homes and the Semantic Web of Things (SWoT). As part of the same effort, I am working on applications of the same concept in real-life scenarios under an HEC Startup Research Grant. Moreover, I am also working on an HEC Funded Project on Semantic Web and Linked Data with the goal to deploy an extensible semantic web application for research discovery and showcasing Research and Academic Resources at University Level. For the future, I am interested to explore using machine learning and future internet architectures for Smart City applications.
